Interested in acting as an RA?

Following a change to policy to permit non-NHS organisations to host Registration Authorities (RA) for the issue of smartcards, information and guidance is expected to be issued in February by NHS Connecting for Health (CFH) to invite organisations to apply to become a pilot RA. The guidance will explain the criteria in respect of governance, operation and external monitoring and audit required by a RA and how NHS CFH will be selecting pilot RAs.

Pharmacy companies, pharmacy system suppliers or pharmacy organisations could potentially become a pilot RA. Amongst the requirements for becoming a pilot RA, the organisation must have access to the NHS network (N3) already in place. To register interest in being notified on publication of the above information, email  cfh.accesscontrol@nhs.net
