April payment dates

Usually, pharmacists are paid of the 1st day of the month, unless it falls on a weekend or bank holiday meaning that it is brought forward to the nearest working day prior to the 1st. The exception to this is for the payment due on 1st April.

If the 1st April falls on a weekend or a bank holiday (as it does this year), the payment date will be delayed to the first working day in April rather than being brought forward. This is so that a maximum of 12 payments are made in any one financial year, as required by the Department of Health.

Therefore, the payment for April 2013 will be made on 2nd April as the 1st falls on a bank holiday. Full details can be found here.
