End of Transitional Arrangements for Distance Selling Pharmacies

The National Health Service (Pharmaceutical and Local Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 2012, replaced by The National Health Service (Pharmaceutical and Local Pharmaceutical Services) Regulations 2013, brought in a number of conditions for distance selling pharmacies in addition to the regulations governing all pharmacies.

The 2012 regulations gave a transitional period of six months for distance selling pharmacies to adhere to the new regulations. As this has now passed, all distance selling pharmacies should ensure that they are adhering to these conditions as contractors face disciplinary action and ultimately removal from the Pharmaceutical List by the NHS Commissioning Board (NHSCB) should they fail to meet them.

These requirements have been summarised in the Distance Selling Pharmacies page.
