Below you'll find an overview of the various NHS IT projects which will support and impact on the national community pharmacy contract. Information Governance

All NHS providers, including community pharmacies need to provide information governance assurances to the NHS on an annual basis. These assurances are provided through completion of an online assessment tool, the NHS Information Governance Toolkit. Click on the link below for more information:


Electronic Health Records 

Key commitments set out in the Department of Health Information Strategy - The Power of Information - include providing all NHS patients with secure online access, where they wish it, to their personal GP records by 2015 and enabling an infrastructure to support patients to share electronic copies of their records with people and organisations of their choice who can help in understanding and managing their health and care. The electronic health record's section of the site summarises current government policy on electronic health records and provides an overview of the Summary Care Record programme.

NHS Choices: Pharmacy Profiles and Patient Feedback

Pharmacy contractors can now take ownership of their pharmacy profiles on NHS Choices and edit information such as opening hours, services offered and car parking arrangements. In September 2011, functionality was enabled on the site to allow visitors to leave feedback about their experience visiting a particular pharmacy:
