NHS Profile Manager to replace DoS Updater and NHS website editor soon

Currently, community pharmacy contractors use two different NHS systems to ensure their pharmacy details are up to date in the NHS 111 Directory of Services (DoS) and on the NHS website: the NHS website profile editor and the DoS Profile Updater. As reported previously, these will shortly be replaced by a new tool, called NHS Profile Manager, which is scheduled for release in early May 2022 subject to technical work being completed.
In our discussions with the NHS, PSNC has long requested that these tools be merged to prevent contractors from having to enter the same data twice.
NHS Profile Manager is where you’ll go to update your service information, such as opening times and contact information and will enable contractors to fulfil their contractual duty to verify and, where necessary, update the information contained within the pharmacy profile at least once each quarter of the financial year. It’s a good idea to update your profile as soon as anything changes in your pharmacy, so that patients and other health and care staff always have the most up to date information. You can also respond to comments left on your NHS website profile.
To improve information security, the new NHS Profile Manager tool will require contractors and their staff to use NHSmail email accounts as a login identifier, rather than other non-NHSmail email addresses.
After the launch of the new tool, contractors should use it when making changes to DoS or NHS website pharmacy profiles. At launch, you’ll be able to use the tool to update your contact and hours information. The services and facilities modules are scheduled to be added to the tool around a month after the launch.
Contractor actions ahead of the change
To get ready for this change, pharmacy contractors or team members should register for the new NHS Profile Manager with their personal NHSmail address, if they have not already done so.
