Pharmacy NHSmail accounts are being upgraded

November 20, 2020

The NHSmail team are upgrading pharmacy NHSmail accounts in November and December 2020, to further improve the NHSmail service.

The upgrade will enable pharmacy NHSmail users to utilise a range of Microsoft Office 365 apps and features, some of which they have had access to before the account upgrade.

PSNC has produced an NHSmail upgrade factsheet describing the upgrade process and outlining the improvements being made to pharmacy personal NHSmail accounts – including new Microsoft Teams functionality.

Information about the upgrade will also be sent by email to personal NHSmail inboxes, including an email stating the upgrade is about to happen, and another email confirming when the upgrade has been completed.

All pharmacy NHSmail account upgrades are scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.

NHSmail top tips:

  • As always, use your NHSmail accounts regularly as this helps reduce the risk that personal accounts are ‘deactivated’ because of inactivity.
  • Members of staff setting up new personal NHSmail account need to activate their accounts using the process set out within the ‘Using NHSmail’ section of the PSNC’s NHSmail webpage. A pharmacy shared mailbox for a pharmacy premises can now have up to ten personal accounts connected as standard.
