Commissioning Toolkit Programme
As part of PSNC’s work to support LPCs to get local services commissioned and to ensure services are costed correctly, PSNC is developing template toolkits for a range of locally commissioned services.
Creation of the toolkits
The toolkits contain a number of resources to assist with the commissioning of a service, for example, a costing toolkit; a business case; service specification; implementation plan; and resources to notify local GP practices about the commissioning of a new service.
As part of this work, PSNC will seeking external input from interested parties, in particular from service commissioners and LPCs. We hope that this inclusive approach will help enhance the contents of the toolkits and raise awareness of them, resulting in increased uptake by commissioners.
Minor Ailment Service
The first published toolkit is intended support the commissioning and implementation of a Minor Ailment Service. Following a consultation which took place from 10th July until Tuesday 8th August 2017, PSNC received feedback from a range of stakeholders.

Extended Care PGD Services
This is the second published toolkit and is intended to support the commissioning of Extended Care PGD Services.
Further resources will be added in due course to support LPCs and their local commissioners with the implementation of Extended Care Services where these are commissioned.
