This PSNC Briefing on sexual health services will assist LPCs in their discussions with Local Authorities on these services. The Briefing summarises two documents published in early 2013:

• A Framework for Sexual Health Improvement in England; and
• Commissioning Sexual Health services and interventions

which may be used by Local Authorities in the commissioning of these services.

The documents provide the evidence base for sexual health and HIV improvement and collaborative working locally to provide accessible services and interventions, clarify commissioning responsibilities and give best practice guidance on commissioning. Community pharmacies are identified as key local providers of sexual health care.
