This PSNC Briefing provides a brief summary of the changes to the GMS contract which the Department of Health has decided to impose on general practices, following negotiations between NHS Employers and the GP Committee of the BMA and a subsequent consultation process.

Some of the new Enhanced services being introduced will be of interest to LPCs and one in particular, which includes electronic ordering of repeat prescriptions, is likely to have an impact on most GP practices and therefore all community pharmacies should be aware of this development.
