Update on pharmacy IT workstreams published

The Community Pharmacy IT Group (CP ITG) has, today, published its Pharmacy IT quarterly round-up (Winter 2020 edition).
This follows the group’s quarterly meeting on 18th November 2020, where a range of topics were discussed, including:
- the deployment of Real Time Exemption Checking and contractor acceptance of the user agreement;
- the new NHS Service Finder online search tool for pharmacy teams;
- webpages used by pharmacies and a new list of them to support whitelisting;
- recent progress with Local Health and Care Record access within pharmacy;
- electronic flu notifications rolling out for more GP practices during this flu season;
- the Professional Record Standards Body’s (PRSB) work with the group and stakeholders to revise pharmacy IT standards during late 2020 and early 2021;
- the next generation of EPS; and
- NHSmail and Microsoft Teams upgrades for pharmacy team members.
The group’s quarterly update also outlines opportunities for pharmacy teams to get further involved with IT projects.
About the group: PSNC provides the Group’s secretariat and it has members drawn from PSNC, NPA, RPS, CCA and AIMp. Other individuals and organisations also take part in the group’s meetings and work, including pharmacy contractors, IT system suppliers, NHSBSA, NHS Digital, NHSE&I, and NHSX.
