PSNC Briefing 036/16: Organising a local MP engagement event (July 2016) In order to maintain momentum over the summer of 2016, LPCs may wish to consider holding a local event with MPs and other stakeholders. This briefing sets out guidance and tips on organising such an event. 22/07/2016
PSNC Briefing 023/16: Engaging with local stakeholders The sector has built support from a range of stakeholders and particularly from MPs, a number of whom spoke in support of community pharmacy in a debate on the Government’s proposals. This briefing sets out some actions that LPCs may wish to consider following the extension of the Government consultation. It also includes guidance on writing a convincing case study and organising a local event. 08/04/2016
Campaign call out to contractors This is a template email that LPCs can use to encourage contractors to get involved with the campaign, particularly in light of the broadcast activity due to take place in the week commencing 21st March. 18/03/2016
PSNC Briefing 007/16: Campaigning guidance for LPCs PSNC and other national pharmacy organisations are working together to coordinate campaigning work to  influence the Government and NHS. This briefing sets out a number of ways in which LPCs can contribute to that campaigning work. Support Your Local Pharmacy flyer

This flyer highlights the value that community pharmacies can bring to their local communities and provides information on ways local politicians can help support their work. It was handed out by PSNC at the recent Local Government Association (LGA) annual public health conference, but could also be a useful resource for LPCs to use when meeting with local councillors.

PowerPoint for patient groups

This PowerPoint has been created to help those LPCs who are holding events to engage local patient groups. There are sections in red where LPCs will need to add in the relevant localised information to make the presentation more relevant to their area. This resource came about following a suggestion from Hertfordshire LPC.

Community Pharmacy Forward View infographic flyer and references

This flyer describes how implementing the Community Pharmacy Forward View (CPFV) can help the NHS to cope with the pressures it is currently facing. It has been written to help LPCs guide conversations on the CPFV with MPs, but click here for a Word version so you can share it with other external audiences by altering the ‘How you can help’ section. We have also created a version for councillors.

PSNC Briefing 056/16: PSNC Response to Parliamentary Debate On Monday 17th October, an urgent question on community pharmacy was raised in the House of Commons by Michael Dugher MP. The key points made by the minister David Mowat MP are set out in this briefing along with PSNC’s responses to them. 19/10/2016
MP Briefing for 24th May event Information provided to MPs who attended the Pharmacy health checks and speed briefing event in Westminster on 24th May. LPCs could send this to MPs who were interested but unable to attend the event. 23/05/2016
Parliamentary event invite The PSNC, alongside Pharmacy Voice, held a major Parliamentary event timed to coincide with the submission of the national petition to Downing Street. This template was used to invite local MPs. 20/05/2016
PSNC Briefing 016/16: Community Pharmacy Westminster Hall Debate On Tuesday 23rd February 2016, a parliamentary debate was held in Westminster Hall. The debate very clearly demonstrated the value of pharmacy presenting a united front, as numerous MPs told Pharmacy Minister Alastair Burt to stop and think again on his proposals for community pharmacy. This briefing provides a summary of the debate, along with suggestions for engagement with MPs. 24/02/2016
